Chris Bond has made it! He is down to the final 5 competitors of a prestigious National search for the top "under ground" South African surfer.
Chris has been involved with the Ticket to Ride courses since the first trip in 2007, and remains an intergral part of our South African team; we have all watched his surfing rapidly develop over the past few years and to achieve what he has done so far is a huge testament to his commitment and ability.
With a weeks surfing photo shootout to decide the winner; with Hurley sponsorship, and a weeks trip to Indo with SA surf mag ZigZag up for grabs, the Hurley Sponsor me Shootout had over 250 applicants of underground South Africa surfers, and comprised of two stages of judging, with the final panel including ex WCT campaigner Royden Bryson; but Chris has seen of the rest of the rabble with his radical style of surfing and is now one of 5 surfers up for the coveted prize.
The eventual winner will now be decided by who performs best, and who ends up with the best photo's after a week's shootout on the Southern Cape.
These are Chris' home waters, and you wouldn't want to bet against him. The competition is tough, but having go this far, we know that he's got it in him to get all the way.
Keep your eye's open for the final result.
